Benjamin R. Trachtman Recovers $2,000,000+ Settlement for Contractor in Construction Payment Dispute
In October, 2021, following three (3) weeks of a multi-month long binding arbitration proceeding, Benjamin R. Trachtman procured a $2,000,000+ settlement for one of its industry-leading contracting clients.
Facts: Our client was retained as the design build electrical subcontractor for a new, ground-up construction of a high-end hotel in Texas. During the project, over $100,000,000 in construction disputes developed between the owner, general contractor and a host of subcontractors. After multiple (in excess of 10) lawsuits were filed, the disputes were ultimately consolidated into a complex binding arbitration, venued in Texas, before a panel of some of the nation’s leading construction arbitrators. In late Summer, 2021, after many months of pre-hearing discovery, the arbitration proceeding commenced.
Outcome: Following aggressive prosecution of our client’s claims, and after participating in the first 25% of the arbitration proceedings, Ben Trachtman procured a very favorable settlement for our client and saved the client hundreds of thousands of dollars in prosecution costs.
